Who We Are

At Detrack we’re on a mission to simplify last-mile logistics. Our SaaS platform powers real-time vehicle tracking, route optimisation and electronic proof of delivery (ePOD) for thousands of businesses globally. With 58,000+ installations across 50+ countries and growing fast, Detrack helps logistics teams move smarter, deliver faster, and delight customers - every day.

We’re a lean, global and ambitious team building technology that solves real-world problems at scale. If you’re excited by high ownership, making a clear impact, and global reach - you’ll love it here.

About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on, high-impact Engineering Manager to lead our distributed engineering team across Singapore and the Philippines. You’ll be responsible for driving technical strategy, architecture, vendor management, DevOps and security - while mentoring a team of talented engineers and shipping fast, reliable product releases.

You’ll partner closely with Product, General Management, our Board and key stakeholders to scale our SaaS platform and prepare the business for its next stage of growth, driving our technical vision, ensuring the reliability and scalability of our platform, fostering a high-performance engineering culture, and upholding our commitment to security and compliance. Additionally this role will act as Data Protection Officer, and manage our ISO certification responsibilities.

As an ideal candidate, you possess demonstrated capabilities in building and maintaining SaaS Databases, managing Hosting services and Security management. A background in DevOps is highly desired.

This is a critical leadership role where you’ll shape both how we build and what we deliver. The ideal candidate is located in the APAC region and is comfortable working remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Engineering Leadership: Lead and grow a team of full stack, frontend, and DevOps engineers. Set high standards for code quality, velocity and reliability with clear measurements.
  • Technical Strategy & Architecture: Own our application and infrastructure architecture (Laravel/SQL, Ruby/MongoDB, Flutter, AWS). Drive decision-making on scaling, performance, and cost-efficiency.
  • DevOps & Hosting: Oversee cloud infrastructure (AWS – Cloudformation, EC2, ELB, CloudFront, WAF, GuardDuty, CloudWatch), production deployments, monitoring, and incident response. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Github actions preferred.
  • Security & Compliance: Lead cybersecurity strategy. Act as Data Protection Officer (DPO) and manage ISO/SOC2 certification processes. Ensure compliance by monitoring and ensuring controls are adhered to.
  • Development Operations: Architect and plan the move off AWS managed services to an internal devops team while ensuring compliance.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product and GM to align engineering priorities with business outcomes.
  • AI Champion - Roll out and leverage code AI tools to increase efficiency and velocity of the development team.
  • Team Culture: Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and accountability within the engineering org.
  • Data Protection officer: This role will act as our data protection officer and manage our ISO certification responsibilities.
  • Vendor Management: Work closely with our vendors ensuring optimal use and right fit for the organisation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in computer science or engineering
  • Proven experience leading engineering teams in a high-growth SaaS environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with 4+ years working in Ruby on Rails, experience in Sinatra/Padrino frameworks preferred.
  • Deep understanding of MongoDB or NoSQL databases, including database design, optimisation, and scaling in production environments.
  • 3+ years of DevOps and cloud infrastructure experience— ideally AWS.
  • Prior experience managing engineers across distributed/remote teams (ideally teams in Singapore and Philippines).
  • Experience overseeing cybersecurity, data protection, and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC2, PDPA, etc.).
  • Experience developing features at a high-growth SaaS company
  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical teams.
  • A systems thinker who balances speed and stability — strategic yet deeply practical.
