About the role
Cannabiz is seeking a highly organised and proactive Operations Manager to keep our business running smoothly behind the scenes.
This is a part-time role (approx. 8–10 hours per week), ideally suited to a self-motivated all-rounder with strong administrative and financial skills. You’ll play a vital part in our small, fast-moving team by managing day-to-day operations and supporting business-critical functions such as membership administration, bookkeeping, and event support.

Responsibilities
- Responding to member and general customer enquiries
- Managing subscriber memberships, renewals and access issues
- Maintaining accurate financial records including:
- Invoicing, bill payments and account reconciliations
- Cashflow monitoring and budgeting
- Bookkeeping and monthly reporting via Xero
- Overseeing the workload and priorities of the (remote) Marketing Assistant
- Assisting with newsletter planning and workflow (no copywriting or content creation required)
- Supporting the coordination and delivery of Cannabiz events, including the Annual Awards Night
- General administration and internal task management
About the successful candidate
- A minimum of 3 years experience in operations, administration or small-business management
- High attention to detail with a strong grasp of finance systems and processes
- Proficiency in Xero, Google Workspace and other standard tools (e.g. Stripe, Mailchimp, WordPress, Asana)
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- A proactive self-starter who can work independently and confidently communicate with internal and external stakeholders
- Previous experience managing remote contractors or freelancers (preferred)
- A team player who’s comfortable wearing multiple hats in a small business environment
