We are currently seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from experienced Power Platform Specialists to support a Microsoft 365 E5 Capability Uplift initiative for the Department of Veteransβ Affairs (DVA).
π― Role Overview
The Power Platform Specialist is responsible for designing and delivering exemplar Power Automate (and Power Apps where required) solutions that demonstrate tangible productivity and efficiency gains from Microsoft 365 E5 within the first six (6) months.
This role operates within a Services Australiaβmanaged Microsoft 365 tenant, meaning delivery must succeed within:
- strict governance and security controls
- enforced DLP policies and connector restrictions
- constrained administration and approval models
- Government-aligned ALM and operational expectations
This is a hands-on delivery role, ideal for someone who understands how to turn manual, high-effort processes into secure, supportable, automation-driven outcomesβand who is comfortable doing so in a highly regulated environment.
π§ Primary Purpose
- βοΈ Deliver fit-for-purpose automation and workflow solutions using Power Automate (and Power Apps where needed)
- π Demonstrate early, measurable value through automation of business-critical processes
- π§± Establish lightweight, sustainable ALM and operational patterns suitable for a constrained, single-tenant model
- π Enable DVA teams to independently build, maintain, and extend Power Platform solutions post-engagement
π οΈ Key Responsibilities
β‘ Automation & Solution Delivery
Design and implement exemplar Power Automate solutions for high-value use cases, including:
- π₯ Email and inbox triage (classification, routing, escalation, templated responses)
- β Approvals and workflow orchestration (multi-stage approvals, delegation, audit evidence)
- π§Ύ Structured data capture (forms, metadata, validation, lifecycle triggers)
- π Outlook, SharePoint and document intelligence integration
Ensure solutions:
- π‘οΈ Are secure, reliable, and Government-aligned
- π° Use existing Microsoft 365 E5 entitlements only
- π Deliver clearly measurable productivity and efficiency outcomes
π Governance, DLP & ALM
Build automation that is BAU-ready:
- π§ Aligned to DLP policies and connector classifications
- β»οΈ Lightweight ALM including controlled deployment, versioning and rollback
- π§― Robust error handling, logging, monitoring and alerting
- π Secure connection and service account patterns
- π Least-privilege and audit-ready design
π€ Integration & Collaboration
- π Integrate with SharePoint Online, document intelligence and approved M365 services
- π§ Work closely with the Solution Architect on alignment and guardrails
- π£οΈ Partner with the Business Analyst to ensure automations meet business intent
- π§© Support Delivery Manager milestones, UAT and defect resolution
π Knowledge Transfer & Sustainability
- π Produce clear documentation, build guides and walkthroughs
- π Deliver hands-on knowledge transfer to DVA teams
- π Enable safe extension and independent operation post-engagement
- β Support BAU transition and readiness activities
β Required Skills & Experience
- π Strong hands-on Power Automate experience
- π Delivery under DLP and security constraints
- ποΈ Government or regulated-environment delivery experience
- π Integration with SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 services
- π§± Strong focus on supportability and operational readiness
- βοΈ Excellent documentation and communication skills
