Maltem Australia is entering a new phase of growth and is looking for a Senior Business Developer to accelerate our growth in the Data, Analytics & AI consulting market across Australia.
This strategic role will drive new client acquisition, market positioning, and revenue growth, while working closely with the COO and leadership team.
You bring an established network across the Data, Analytics & AI ecosystem in Australia, strong experience within a consulting environment, and a proven ability to identify, structure, price, and close consulting opportunities.

The Senior Business Developer will help shape the commercial strategy, strengthen our market presence, and drive sustainable growth across Australia.
Your Mission
As Senior Business Developer, you will operate with a high level of autonomy and lead your own commercial development strategy and market expansion across Australia.
You will define and execute your business development strategy, develop strategic client partnerships, identify and qualify consulting opportunities, and structure the commercial approach required to scale the business.
You will own opportunities throughout the sales lifecycle, from initial prospecting and client engagement through to proposal development, RFP/RFQ responses, commercial structuring, pricing, negotiation, and closing.
Working closely with the COO, technical and delivery teams, you will contribute to shaping the company’s growth strategy while tracking and reporting on business performance, pipeline development, and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute your business development strategy across the Australian market
- Identify, open, and grow strategic Tier 1 and Tier 2 enterprise client accounts
- Develop existing accounts that may be attributed to you
- Build trusted relationships with C-level stakeholders, senior executives, and key decision-makers
- Generate consulting opportunities across Data, Analytics, Cloud, and AI
- Develop and manage a high-value consulting sales pipeline
- Lead and coordinate responses to RFPs, RFQs, tenders, and other formal client opportunities
- Work closely with technical and delivery teams to scope client requirements and build compelling consulting proposals
- Structure and price consulting engagements, including resource-based and fixed-price projects
- Lead commercial discussions and negotiations through to contract signature
- Collaborate with consulting and delivery leaders to ensure successful transition from sales to delivery
- Participate actively in industry events, networking activities, and strategic partnerships
- Contribute to structuring and scaling Maltem’s commercial capability as the business grows
- Present market strategy, pipeline, forecasts, and growth plans to the COO and leadership team when required
- Track, analyse, and report key business development, pipeline, and revenue metrics
Expected Impact
Success in this role will include:
- Opening strategic Tier 1 and Tier 2 enterprise client accounts
- Building a strong Data, Analytics & AI consulting pipeline
- Generating a consistent pipeline of qualified client meetings, with a target of 20+ meetings per month
- Converting opportunities into sustainable consulting revenue
- Expanding Maltem’s market presence across Australia
- Successfully contributing to RFPs, RFQs, tenders, and strategic consulting proposals
- Contributing to the structuring and scaling of the commercial function
- Strengthening Maltem’s positioning within the Australian Data, Analytics & AI ecosystem
What We’re Looking For
- At least 5 years of experience in business development, account management, or consulting sales
- Proven experience working within a Data, Analytics & AI consulting environment (minimum 2 years).
- Strong track record in enterprise business development and opening new strategic accounts
- Hands-on experience responding to RFPs, RFQs, and tenders for Data, Analytics, Cloud and/or AI consulting engagements
- Experience scoping and pricing consulting proposals, including resource-based and fixed-price engagements
- Ability to work closely with technical and delivery teams to build commercially viable client solutions and proposals
- Ability to engage, influence, and build trusted relationships with C-level stakeholders and senior decision-makers
- An established professional network across the Data, Analytics & AI ecosystem in Australia
- Strong understanding of Data, Analytics, Cloud and AI technologies and the associated consulting services
- Strategic mindset with the ability to identify market opportunities and drive expansion
- Experience contributing to the development, structuring, or leadership of commercial teams
- Strong commercial acumen, including pipeline management, forecasting, pricing, and negotiation
