The Opportunity

We are looking for a heavy-hitting Data & AI Project Manager who doesn't just manage timelines but deeply understands the "how" behind the tech. This isn’t a role for a generalist; we need someone who has lived in the trenches as a developer and evolved into a strategic leader capable of steering multi-million-dollar programs.

You will take full ownership of two flagship programs (AUD 3Mn+ scale), navigating the complexities of Modern data stacks and the rapidly evolving AI landscape.

Your Technical & Professional DNA

• The "Ex-Dev" Edge: You were once a hands-on developer. You can smell a technical risk from a mile away and hold your own in a room full of Data Engineers and Architects.
• Platform Fluent: Deep familiarity with the "Big Three" and modern data ecosystems: Databricks, Microsoft Azure, and AWS.
• Proven Scale: You have independently delivered programs with budgets exceeding AUD 3Mn.
• Global Delivery Mastery: You are an expert in the Onshore-Offshore engineering model. You know how to maximize velocity across time zones while maintaining uncompromising quality.
• AI Obsessive: You aren’t just following the trend; you have a keen interest in Generative AI, LLMs, and Machine Learning, understanding how they translate into business value.

Core Responsibilities

• Program Ownership: Manage and own the end-to-end delivery of two concurrent large-scale Data & AI programs.
• Stakeholder Influence: Act as the bridge between complex engineering outputs and executive-level business requirements.
• Pressure Management: Maintain a calm, decisive presence in high-stakes environments. You thrive when things get complex and can pivot strategies without losing momentum.
• Team Leadership: Guide distributed teams, ensuring the offshore engine is perfectly synchronized with onshore business goals.
• Travel: Flexibility to travel as required to engage with clients and teams across regions.

• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills. You can simplify the complex and influence at the C-suite level.
• Maturity & Confidence: You lead with authority and empathy. You are comfortable making tough calls and owning the outcomes.
• Resilience: A proven track record of managing high-pressure delivery cycles without breaking a sweat.
